Delirious

Delirious is an excellent band which redefines praise and worship.  They are known for a praise and worship style that is both unique yet edifying to Christians and glorifying to God.  My favourite Delirous tracks include "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever", "History Maker" and "Not Ashamed".  Their album D:Tour Live 1997 is great and includes "History Maker"!

Petra-Beyond Belief

This 1990 album is the first Petra album I listened to and I think it's great! Track 4 which is the title of the album "Beyond Belief" is an excellent track with meaningful and inspiring lyrics. I believe that God wants us to go beyond belief in our walk with Him. James 2:17 (NKJ) states, "Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." This song reminds us to not just be mere believers of the Word but also doers of the Word. Practice active faith! The just shall live by faith! (Rom 1:17)

Beyond Belief
Words and music by Bob Hartman

We're content to pitch our tent
when the glory's evident
Seldom do we know the glory came and went
Moving can seem dangerous in this stranger's pilgrimage
knowing that you can't stand still, you cross the bridge
(Chorus)
There's a higher place to go
beyond belief, beyond belief
Where we reach the next plateau,
beyond belief, beyond belief
And from faith to faith we grow
towards the center of the flow
where He beckons us to go
beyond belief, beyond belief
Leap of faith without a net
Makes us want to hedge our bet
Waters never part until our feet get wet
There's a deeper place to go
Where the road seems hard to hoe
He who has begun this work won't let it go
(Chorus)
And it takes so long to see the change
But we look around and it seems so strange
We have come so far but the journey's long
And we once were weak but now we're strong
(Chorus)

DC Talk-Welcome to the Freak Show

This is an absolutely amazing album! I've been listening to DC Talk since their first self-titled album and it's great to see how much they've improved and harmonized over the years. "Welcome to the Freak Show" is their live album and just listening to it makes you wish that you were there at the concert. "What if I Stumble" is a very meaningful and bold song. The lyrics remind us that Christians are not perfect-they're just saved!:) We often make mistakes and depend so much on His Grace in our lives. The good news is that He is not finished with us yet! Jesus is the "author and finisher of our faith"! (Heb 12:2, NKJ)

Jars Of Clay

Jars Of Clay's first album is definitely better than their second album, I'm 'much afraid' to say. The sound of the violins in the music is really harmonious. Track 2, "Love Song For A Saviour" is an excellent song with really beautiful lyrics. I think the song is about a girl who does not know Jesus yet but "...someday she'll understand...the meaning of it all". The chorus of the song represents her yearning to know a Saviour like Jesus. "I want to fall in love with You...I want to fall in love with You." The girl probably just heard about Jesus and is making a decision in her life. I guess that's how we all felt before we got saved, even just after we got saved. It's like, "who is this Saviour who actually died...for me?" Then we make a decision to fall in love with Jesus, and when we realize what He has actually done for us we just want to thank God for His unconditional love for us. John 15:13, NKJ says, "Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." Amen!

In open fields of wild flowers,
she breathes the air and flies away
She thanks her Jesus for the daises and the roses
in no simple language
Someday she'll understand the meaning of it all
He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close a heartbeat or a song on her lips
Someday she'll trust Him and learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call her and she will come running
and fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and
she'll pray,

"I want to fall in love with You"

Sitting silent wearing Sunday best
The sermon echoes through the walls
A great salvation through it calls to the people
who stare into nowhere, and can't feel the chains on
their souls

He's more than the laughter or the stars in the heavens
As close a heartbeat or a song on our lips
Someday we'll trust Him and learn how to see Him
Someday He'll call us and we will come running
and fall in His arms and the tears will fall down and
we'll pray,

"I want to fall in love with You"

It seems too easy to call you "Savior",
Not close enough to call you "God"
So as I sit and think of words I can mention
to show my devotion

"I want to fall in love with You"

"my heart beats for You"

Tommy Emmanuel-Determination

Tommy Emmanuel is an instrumental guitar artiste that loves God. He wrote in "Dare To Be Different" that he "thanks God for His gift of music" and I think it's great! I started listening to Tommy Emmanuel when I was studying in Australia (yes, he's Australian) in April 1998 and now own 3 of his albums, namely "Determination, "Up From Down Under" and "Dare To Be Different". Most Tommy Emmanuel die-hard fans would argue that "Determination" is his best album to date and I would agree with them whole-heartedly. Determination is without a doubt an excellent album and if I would describe it in a single word, it would be "inspirational"! Go get the album...in fact...go get several albums!;) I listen to him when I do assignments! In Determination after John Lennon's "Imagine" he writes to John, "there is a God". I can't imagine otherwise!;)
