This is the church that I'm attending now. It's a
Spirit-filled church on fire for God!
In 1986, God gave Rev. H. Kong a vision to raise up a generation of believers who will
take the nations by storm. These people will be full of faith and the Holy Spirit,
Christ-like, courageous, and untainted by the spirit of religion.
That vision began to unfold on May 7, 1989. With a handful of 20 youths, "Ekklesia
Ministry" was born in an unnoticeable corner of the island, under the supervision of
Bethany Christian Center (a local Assemblies of God church).
Since its inception, the Lord has blessed the church tremendously. Just like the words of
the prophet Isaiah in Isa 43:5-7, people from all over the island - north, south, east and
west - came to the church. From a humble beginning of 20 young men and women, it grew to
200 people within a year, then 400 the following year.
On January 1, 1993, the church was legally listed with the Registry of Societies under the
name, "CITY HARVEST CHURCH."
A new chapter for this exciting church has just begun. Jesus is indeed building His Church
and the gates of hell will definitely not prevail against it (Mt 16:18). Within 9 years,
it grew rapidly to more than 5,300 attenders, with mission outreaches into 17 nations all
throughout Asia. Hallelujah! |
